Schools for Syria was founded in 2013 by Dublin native Fr. William Stuart, with the aim of providing schooling & basic education to Syrian refugee children in Lebanon.
100% of your donations go towards the cost of running the school, i.e., the cost of rent, gas for generators, teachers and administration salaries, transportation for the children and food for lunches.
Who are our students.
Our students are the poorest of the poor, Syrian refugee children, girls and boys aged 8-14 displaced by war, living in refugee camps, suffering from abject poverty and abuse, lacking even the most basic necessities of life including food, clothing and education with no support from any group, state or other. The children work to support their families.
Coming to our school offers the children the opportunity to learn, have a healthy meal, make friends and play. Attending the school brings a sparkle to the children’s eyes and just a glimmer of hope that there might be a brighter future filled with promise and pride.

Our Mission
Schools for Syria aims to provide educational support to children who are out of school, long term ,for whatever reason.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be able to educate as many Syrian Refugee children as possible so that we can place them in a Lebanese State School. Right now, the Children and their families living in Refugee Camps have no hope.
Our Story
How We Got Started
In January 2013, I was in Northern Lebanon as part of an international group assessing the Syrian refugee situation. The principal aim of the mission was to set up a peace and reconciliation center to win the peace when the guns have stopped. (See Relief and Reconciliation Syria)
Where We Are Now
Presently, we have an enrolment of 420 students, who are spread out over three time periods a day. We recently took over the second floor of the building that houses the school and after extensive renovations now have XX additional classrooms. We would like to increase the number of students as funds become available. Your donations provide; education, school supplies, a daily meal, hygiene instruction and supplies, clothing and transportation.
